Está Escrito Touches Hearts in Spain
In late 2006, at the request of the Spanish Union, Pastor Robert Costa--who serves as speaker for Está Escrito--traveled to Spain to conduct two series in the Canary Islands and Seville. Naysayers advised him not to go, as Europe has historically been a tough nut to crack. Steeped in tradition, Spain has consistently resisted change.
"Many in our church here believe that evangelism in Europe doesn't work," said Pastor Alejandro Delgado from Las Palmas (Canary Islands), shortly before the start of the series. "But for some time now, I've been feeling that in these meetings we will witness the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Lord will work a miracle."
And he was right. Despite the initial skepticism and doubts of some, the Holy Spirit was felt in a powerful way. Tears flowed at the close of the meetings, and many university students expressed genuine surprise and interest in the truths presented.
Letters are still trickling in from Spain with news of follow-up Bible studies, baptisms and miracles. Just this month, an evangelical church in the Canary Islands has opened its doors for the local Adventist pastor to preach the message.
